In 2002 I felt ready for a somewhat longer trek. After some consideration I decided on Abisko - Kvikkjokk. It was a choice I did not regret. On the opposite - I chose to hike the same route in the summer of 2004.

For the trekker keeping a good pace Abisko - Kvikkjokk is well suited for a week long hike. The segment does not contain any technical difficulties, and does not have any major fords. However, it offers fantastic vistas and a landscape that changes along the trail -  from high alpine tundra to thick pine and spruce forest.

The Aktse homestead is one of the highlights of this segment of the King’s Trail with its multitude of mountain flowers and views into Sarek.
