Taking a break for lunch (bacon and mashed potatoes).
I slept well last night, and my new down sleeping bag was perfect. I woke up at 6 PM but went back to sleep and started south again at 8:30. This morning I met a man at Sierggabuollda who marked the trail with fresh red paint and rebuilt the cairns along the trail. From what I understand it was the first time in 30 years the marking was maintained.
There is a strong wind today. Probably 10-15 m/s. Nice, sunny and perfect hiking weather.

Having dinner inside the Tjäura Lapp Cot. Delicious beef and mashed potatoes.
It was pretty steep uphill up to the ridge. I crossed a ford close to the lapp cot that is probably quite difficult to cross when the water is high. It looked as there had been a bridge there long ago.
The trail was poorly marked from the two bridges at Luspeváratj and through the forrest up to the ridge. Sometimes you had to carefully look for the overgrown trail hidden in the waist high vegetation as there were no trail markers to be found for several hundred meters.
What made it even more difficult was that the map did not seem to correctly reflect the trail when you got up above the tree line..
The wind is very strong today, and it is alarmingly dark and cloudy outside.
Just after luch I met a guy on the trail who started in Hemavan last Friday. He was averaging 50-60 km a day and was planning on reaching Abisko this Saturday. He did not even look tired.
