Boat Trip to the Kitsissunnguit Islands

Location: Qasigiannguit

Kitsissunnguit Islands are known as a nesting area for arctic terns and razorbill, but also puffins are seen on the islands. The islands are located between Aasiaat and Disko Island, and, formerly, there was a whaling station on the island. It is still inhabited by about 50 people, although we will not visit the settlement.

Instead, we focus on the birdlife, and the islands also have old turf ruins from a former Inuit settlement that we will get to see.

On the way from Qasigiannguit to Kitsissunnguit, we might be lucky to see whales and seals.
