Go ahead and book your next adventure right now. We promise you — it will be one to remember!
Location: Qasigiannguit
This journey allows you to spend a significant amount of time close to the Ice Sheet, which is as isolated as it gets. This trip includes three days of dog sledding, one night in a camp near the glacier, and one night in a cabin.
Imagine the stars shining brightly in a clear sky, perhaps with the northern lights dancing above the glacier, the dogs lining up in front of the glacier, and you squeezing into a warm sleeping bag on a reindeer hide in the tent.
Don’t worry about the cold; the tent is heated, the sleeping bag can handle the temperature, reindeer hides isolate the bed, and the entertaining stories and laughter will keep you warm.
Please note
– 1-2 person/people pr. dog sled
– There is a maximum of six people on this tour
Included
– Sealskin clothing, warm boots, sleeping equipment, and food. The food will be either reindeer, muskox, or fish, all locally caught.
Itinerary
We load the sled with our belongings and food for both dogs and humans, then head into Qasigiannguit’s backwoods.
On the first day, we drive 35 kilometers on land and frozen lakes to the cabin in Tasiusaq, where we will spend the first night.
On day two, after breakfast, we load all of our belongings onto the sled and begin the 20-kilometer trek through the icy Tasiusaq Fjord to the Saqqarleq Glacier. We help each other set up camp right next to the glacier after we arrive.
On day three, before we help each other take down the camp and pack the sled, enjoy a cup of something hot. The breathtaking view of the dogs in front of the glacier is still available. On the third day, we return to Qasigiannguit.
