Location: Qasigiannguit
This is a hike in the wonderful surroundings of Qasigiannguit. The destination is Kangerluluk which also carries the exotic name Paradise Bay.
Along the way, we will pass the first placement of the colony of ChristianshĂĄb and Bings Cave, and the guide will tell you the stories of these places. Qasigiannguit was founded as a trading post for Jacob Severin’s company in 1734, originally in a different location. Its Danish name was ChristianshĂĄb, named after the king and sometimes translated into Christian’s Hope. Bing’s Cave is a natural cave in the mountainside above the fjord. It’s quite astonishing.
We arrive at the beautiful fjord and sit and relax. Then, from the beach, we hike back to the town.
