Location: Qasigiannguit
We start our hike in Qasigiannguit and walk through the cozy town and follow the trail towards the fjord Eqalunnguit. We only carry daypacks as our baggage is sent ahead by boat.
On day one, we follow the Eqalunnguit Fjord all day until we get to our campsite, located halfway to Ilimanaq.
We find our camp set up as we reach the fjord’s end, and our luggage and gear are placed in the tents. While we go to get water for a nice cup of something warm, we can see if we are lucky to catch some arctic char in the stream, using our hands in the traditional Greenlandic way. If we are lucky, this could be our dinner tonight.
On day two, we start with a nice breakfast and continue our hike towards Ilimanaq. We go further into the hinterland, and if we are lucky, we might see some of the wonderful wildlife living here.
Please note
– Luggage and gear will be sailed to our destinations. You only carry a daypack with your lunch, water bottle, a thermos, first aid, camera, etc.
– Dress in layers so that you can adjust your clothes to the weather.
Included
Dinner on day one, breakfast and lunch on day two, luggage transfer to the campsite and Ilimanaq, and all sleeping gear at the campsite.
