Experience a boat tour to Kangeq - The Island Of Hope
The historical site Kangeq is where missionary Hans Egede established Godthåb, or what is now known as Nuuk.
Formerly the residence of renowned hunter and artist Aron Kangermiu, whose paintings depicted folktales and mythologies.
A couple of the homes in Kangeq, which was abandoned in the 1970s, are kept tidy for the sake of the family who live there during the summer. An outdoor Greenlandic flag indicates that someone is at home.
