Paddle to the famous basalt columns of Disko Islands from the coast of Qeqertarsuaq.
Join us for a stunning kayaking trip towards the “Kuannit,” or volcanic basalt columns, along the Disko Island Coast. With its floating icebergs, craggy basalt columns, and tumbling springs on lush hills, here is nature at its finest.
Program: Seeing Disko Island from the sea is an absolutely remarkable experience. to glide gently through the water while surrounded by rocky coastlines, seabirds, and icebergs beneath a vast, open sky. Perhaps we are lucky enough to see marine life or get a view of local fisherman using their dinghies to fish?
We paddled along the coast towards Kuannit in the morning, starting at the town’s well-known black-sand beach. Solidified basalt columns twist and turn in every direction, and springs flow down the steep mountainside.
This trip lasts four to five hours, with two to three hours of paddling time. Our support boat will be nearby for added safety.
Note: We keep the right to call off the kayaking activity if the water becomes unsafe. Participants will receive a complete refund if we have to cancel.
