Dogsledding with one of the most skilled mushers in the nation.
We begin in our town dog yard, where you will get to know the enthusiastic sled dogs and assist in getting the team and sled ready for the trip. When you’re ready, Jørgen, a five-time Greenlandic dogsledding champion and co-owner of Dogsled and Ice Academy, will lead the way as you cross the wide plains.
We pause for a comfortable break with coffee or hot cocoa, time for pictures, and, of course, many of dog hugs as the road leads out towards the Akinnaq mountain. We enjoy the peaceful rhythm of the sled sliding over early-season snow as we drift back toward Ilulissat after the break.
