Explore the Ilulissat Backcountry by Snowmobile (3Hours)
Experience the hinterland of Ilulissat and the Kangia Icefjord on a snowmobile.Do you want to ride through Ilulissat's beautiful winter landscape on an exciting snowmobile tour?
Leaving the town behind, we set off past the quarry at the mountain just outside Ilulissat and into the open backcountry. The route takes us across frozen lakes and through varied, mountainous terrain, offering breathtaking Arctic scenery along the way.
After approximately 1.5 hours of riding, we stop at a scenic viewpoint overlooking the frozen, ice-filled Kangia Fjord. Here, we take time to enjoy the view while warming up with a hot drink and a light snack before beginning the return journey through the landscape towards town.
This snowmobile tour offers a unique opportunity to experience the raw beauty, silence, and vastness of the Arctic wilderness surrounding Ilulissat.
The trip includes:
•3-hour guided snowmobile tour
•Safety instructions and experienced guide
•Warm suit, gloves, insulated boots, and helmet for the ride
•Hot drinks and snacks during tour stops
•Transfer from the Disko Line Explorers office to the tour starting point
Important information:
• The route is adjusted according to weather and snow conditions and changes accordingly.
• The snowmobiles are shared in pairs, meaning two people per snowmobile. If you book the trip alone, you may be asked to share a snowmobile with another participant.
• If you have neck or back problems, you should not sign up.
• All participants must be at least 12 years old.
• Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
