Overnight Tent in the Ice Fjord

Stay in a tent near the Northern Glacier in Ilulissat Icefjord where you can see the Northern Lights in addition to views of the ice cap.

We drive along the Ilulissat Icefjord in the famous Unesco area to the fishing huts, from where the fishermen drive on sea ice to the fishing grounds.

The trip there lasts about an hour and is by snowmobile, where we drive through a special corridor with views of dog sleds, views of the Icefjord and at the campsite there is a view of the Northern Glacier.

Two snowmobiles will be used and there will be an introduction to operating the vehicles and handling in the terrain. If there are several participants, you will ride as a passenger.

When we reach the campsite we will unpack and go to the sea ice and have the opportunity to get up on a small iceberg.

After this, a meal will be prepared. Hot drinks will be available throughout the stay.

The tour includes:
Warm suit and suitable footwear for the tour. In the tent there are beds and a sleeping bag will be provided for the night.

The tent is heated with a stove where wood is used for firewood.
Departure at 17:00 and return the next day at 11:00.

Snowmobiling is prohibited on the sea ice, so you can purchase a sledge ride over the sea ice at the fishing spot.

Participants: Please note that the excursion will only take place if a minimum of 2 tickets are booked in total. For example, if you book 1 tickets, at least 1 additional tickets must be sold to other customers for the trip to proceed. A maximum of 3 people will participate.

Language: The guide speaks English, Danish, and Greenlandic.

Practical info: Not recommended for people with severe back problems

Recommended Clothing: Practical shoes and warm clothes incl. hat and gloves.
