-Day 1. – arrival day in Greenland, Kulusuk Airport.
We will meet you at our quaint little airport in Kulusuk and help you with your luggage, its then a short walk to the pier where you step aboard the boat, and your Arctic adventure begins.
Initially we will set off towards the fjord system called Nattivit.
For the first hour and a half we will be traveling by boat along an amazing section of coast where there will be a good chance of spotting humpback whales, 2fin whales and sperm whales. Occasionally we sight the elusive Narwal – our marine Unicorn.
When we reach the area of Nattivit, which is a special place with much history, we will spend time setting nets for Arctic char, and hopefully we will catch some fish for dinner. You won’t get fresher fish anywhere else.
Afterwards we continue to the campsite and set up camp and start preparing our meal.
During your time with us you will be able to sample a range of traditional greenlandic foods, fresh fish, seal and whale meat will be on offer for those interested in trying it.
In the evening we enjoy the peace and quiet while sat around a driftwood fire watching the sun set.
You will have had a busy day so a good nights sleep in your own tent is guaranteed.
-Day 2 – 7.
Every morning will start with a good cup of coffee, whilst you wake up in this beautiful and very unique Arctic landscape.
We are of the beaten track, where only local hunters go, so the chance
of meeting other people is small.
After breakfast we will take down the camp and load the boat.
We will plan our next days adventure and destination based on the weather forecast for the area, thereby insuring we make the most of your time here with us.
The huge ice producing Sermilik fjord is a must to visit and is a photographers paradise.
The icebergs which are of all sizes, shapes and different colors have to be seen to be believed.
These have come form the greenland icecap and some ice is as old as 30,000 years.
During your time with us, we will go to a variety of places to fish for Arctic char. There are many secret places hidden inland which we can hike to.
The landscape is truly magestic.
There are also many ancient ruins, Winter Houses, made of stones and turf.
We will visit these and tell you more about how they were built, their interior, location and how food was preserved.
We will endeavor to visit the 3 small settlements of Tiniteqilaaq, Kuummiut and Sermiligaaq, which encompasses the best scenery and mountain back drops.
In the villages you can shop for food and snacks, and it’s possible to have a shower at the Public Service house.
