Minicruise and visit to Assaqutaq

Come with us on a memorable trip through history and nature, when we sail out from Sisimiut and head towards Assaqutaq. During the boat trip, you will have a beautiful view of the majestic coastline with the mountains as a background, while we keep an eye out and look for sea animals hiding in the Arctic waters. When we get to Assaqutaq, the guide will lead the way in the ghost settlement that once was a home to a lively fishing settlement. You will be sucked into the history about the settlement’s past, living conditions and the changes that led to its closure. On the tour among the old houses, there is ample opportunity to experience what it was like to live in such a remote and harsh place and with the challenges this may present.
After the tour light refreshments will be served on the boat while we head back towards Sisimiut.
