Sermermiut Hike

Welcome to this Sermermiut Hike!

Experience the stunning scenery and rich history on this guided hike to Sermermiut, one of the most spectacular areas in Ilulissat. This 2-hour tour takes you through unique landscapes with impressive icebergs and cultural and historical sights.

We meet at the agreed meeting point in Ilulissat, where our friendly and experienced guide will welcome you and give a brief introduction to the tour. We make sure everyone has the necessary equipment and is ready to embark on the adventure.

From the meeting point, we begin our hike towards the Sermermiut Valley.
The trail leads us through the Greenlandic tundra landscape and our guide will tell you about the flora and fauna of the area along the way.

You’ll learn about the plants and animals that thrive in this harsh but beautiful environment.

We’ll arrive at Sermermiut, a historic settlement that has been inhabited by various Inuit cultures for more than 4,000 years.

Here the guide will tell you about the different periods and what life was like for the people who lived here.

You’ll see the remains of old peat houses and gain insight into the rich cultural heritage.

Duration: 2 hours
Participants: Please note that the excursion will only take place if a minimum of 4 tickets are booked in total. For example, if you book 2 tickets, at least 2 additional tickets must be sold to other customers for the trip to proceed. A maximum of 8 people will participate.
