Location: Qasigiannguit
We’ll take you by boat to Itilliup Ilua Beach, located south of Ilimanaq. Then, we start the ATV and drive for about 30 minutes over land until arriving at the beach at the mouth of the Tasiusaq Fjord. Then, it’s time to go sailing again, and this time in an open boat powered by a 90 horsepower engine. It will take us an hour to sail the 40 kilometers from one end of the Tasiusaq Fjord to the other, passing by the Ilulissat Ice Fjord’s opening, a dogsled route, and a bird cliff before arriving at our target, the Saqqarleq Glacier.
Enjoy your lunch in the lovely surroundings, knowing that your group is the only one within a 35-kilometer radius.
We now embark on our glacier hike. We walk up the mountain, closer to the glacier’s edge. Perhaps you hear the ice cracking and see some wildlife in this isolate location.
Spikes and hiking sticks are provided before we tread into the ice. Keep your water bottle handy to enjoy the fresh, cool meltwater.
Please note
– Bring warm clothing
– We provide all the special equipment needed for the tour
– We will serve coffee and tea on board
Duration: 8 hours
