Take a short trip and enjoy the sight of the beautiful baleen whales in Godthåbsfjorden
On our whale watching tour in Godthåbsfjorden, you may be lucky enough to see the majestic baleen whale, the humpback whale, which is in Greenland from around early June to late September to feed on krill and other small fish. The female breeds during the winter months. Therefore, a female and calf would often be seen swimming together during the summer period.
The humpback whale is characterized by its humped dorsal fin and beautiful tail, which is like its DNA. For example, the same humpback whale has been seen swimming around the Nuuk Fjord since the 1980s simply by the markings on its tail.
Of its own free will, the humpback whale can get very close to the boats and play around. This is probably because the Nuuk area is the only place in Greenland where the humpback whale is actually protected and can be more welcoming than elsewhere.
BOATS: Targa 25 (with toilet) and Arronet 24,5 (no toilet) DURATION: 3 hours PLEASE NOTE: There must be at least 4 registrants in total for the tour to take place.
