Visit the house of Niels Lynge and get access to the local museum of Nuuk
Visiting Niels Lynge’s House at Gertrud Raskvej 24 is a unique opportunity to experience one of the finest homes in Nuuk from the 50s and 60s – the house was a large house in relation to the period, with plenty of room for Pastor Niels Lynge ( 1880-1965), his second wife Karoline (1906-1989) (after the death of Niels Lynge’s first wife in 1940), and the couple’s two youngest daughters.
You get a tour of Pastor Niels Lynge’s House as well as entrance to the Local Museum and a cup of coffee or tea.
Niels Lynge was a locally and nationally renowned painter, draftsman, poet and priest, and many still benefit from Lynge’s artistic legacy.
Through his work as a priest, and for the association Peqatigiinniat and the Servants Association, Lynge has made a name for himself as a man who would promote community and Christianity in Greenland.
Time: 1 pm – about 3 pm
Includes: The tour also includes access to Nuuk Lokalmuseum, which houses an exhibition about Nuuk’s history. Here you will be offered coffee or tea.
