2 Days of Dog Sledding

Location: Ilulissat

This is an amazing journey in the backcountry of Ilulissat. A dream come true to many – 2 days in the nature, you and the musher on the sled, the gear packed up and the dogs infront. You will drive approx. 40 km this day, uphill and downhill, cross lakes and you will feel the remoteness and wild nature of Greenland. Our destination is a hut close to the glacier Sermeq Avannarleq, here we park the dogs and feed them.

We spend the night in a basic hut, luckily we have brought food, thick sleepingbags an supplies to brew a cup of something varm. The evening will be lots of talks about the day, the ride to the hut, greenlandic traditions and stories. This is the perfect time to learn more about our culture while the dogs are curled up outside.
If we are lucky we might see the northern lights.

Next morning we pack up our gear, pack the sled and start the ride back to Ilulissat. We will reach town during the afternoon, all depending of what time we depart from the hut.

Please note
– 1-2 people pr. dog sled
– Sealskin clothing, warm boots, sleeping equipment, and food are included. The food will be either reindeer, muskox, or fish, all locally caught.
