Consider fishing as the locals do. Ilulissat’s primary industry is fishing, with a particular emphasis on the delicate halibut. Yet there’s much more to the region than halibut. We will try our luck for cod fish, wolf fish, mussels, and sea urchins. The Disko Bay is renowned for its premium fish and seafood.
We will sail in an open boat to make sure you have a real experience. We fish using a variety of techniques, including the conventional jig, net, and rod. The things we might catch and the methods we use will change daily. You are free to keep your catch.
We will arrange to have the fish prepared in the traditional Greenlandic manner. Savor the finest seafood while admiring the breathtaking scenery while perched on the rocks.
The meeting place is fifteen minutes before departure at the Tourist Pontoon near Tankeeraq (the harbor petrol station). It’s important to pack thick clothing, gloves, and a cap because the Icefjord is chilly even in the summer. Time: two to three hours.
