Sermersuaq is Greenlandic for “ice cap”, and as the concerns about climate change has become more widespread, the Greenland ice cap has come to get a lot of attention.
On this tour we travel to “Twillingebræen,” which is located close to the city of Narsaq.
If there is sea ice, we will sail up to the shore, and you can walk on land. Here you can touch the ice cap itself while noticing how insignificant you feel in relation to this massive ice sheet that covers 80 percent of Greenland.
You might wish to bring a bottle of whisky on this tour, so that you can take in the scenery and the distinctive popping sound made by ice cubes, that have been plucked from the glacier.
Countless air bubbles that have been held in place for countless years are released as the ice melts in your glass.
Duration: 4 hours
Minimum: 4 people
Maximum: 7 people
