Go ahead and book your next adventure right now. We promise you — it will be one to remember!
The back country is in the local community’s DNA and nowhere else in Greenland is there such a large mountain area that is ice cap free. The area is known for its UNESCO site, unique hunting opportunities for reindeer, the Arctic Circle Trail, and above all, its overwhelming sense of infinity
Even though we only reach a fraction of the way into the area on a small dirt road, you still get a sense of the landscape’s grandeur.
On the tour, the guide who is also the driver tells about the area and some of the old legends associated with the area. You make several stops so that there is an opportunity to take pictures. You also stop by the river, with the rushing crystal clear water, which tastes absolutely fantastic. It actually doesn’t taste like anything at all, and maybe that’s what the wild, untamable Greenlandic nature tastes like.
On the way back, we also make a stop at our Greenlandic sled dogs, which are in the dog town, and should you feel like petting puppies and taking pictures, this is a welcome opportunity.
