Location: Ilulissat
Do you have 4 hours to use on an adventure? Join us on this fun dogsled ride up the mountain Akinnaq and into the backcountry of Ilulissat.
We meet up in our office and drive to the dog kennel, where you are introduced to dog sledding – what is the sled build out of, how do you sit on the sled and where are you going? In the background your musher is getting the sled and the dogs ready for todays tour. When they are ready you sit on the sled and off you go on a fun adventure.
On the way uphill you might need to get off the sled in order to help the dogs, you hold onto the sled, so don’t worry, the dogs help you go up. This way of working with the dogs is an amazing experience to get.
When we are back at the kennel, the dogs need to be taken back to their chains, the harness has to be taken off and then the dogs get their food. This is where you can thank them for the day you have spend in their company, and you can help us give them the care they need.
Please note
– We suggest clothing in layers in order to stay warm
– We always bring some coffee and tea on our tours
– A snack in the pocket might be a good idea
– If needed you can rent a set of sealskin clothes and a pair of big boots, please contact us for this
Duration: 4 hours
Season: depending on the snowconditions, but typically mid-january to april
